The Cornell Lab of Ornithology recently launched the new Birds of the World, which brings together species accounts, maps, multimedia, and bird family overviews from Birds of North America, Handbook of the Birds of the World Alive, Neotropical Birds, and eBird — now all in one place!

One of the free accounts available happens to be the overview of the shorebird family Scolopacidae. Even if you are not a Birds of the World subscriber, you can explore this detailed section about one of the largest shorebird groups, including sections on all genera and species in the family, identification tips, habitat preferences, diet and foraging, and more. Check out the Scolopacidae account here!
